Carbonmark partners with UNLP to tokenise 515,234 carbon credits from Urunday project

Carbonmark has partnered with the National University of La Plata (UNLP) to bring credits from its Carbon Program on-chain. The collaboration tokenised 515,234 Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) from the Urunday Afforestation Project, with 10,000 credits now available on Carbonmark's marketplace. This initiative marks Argentina's first instance of carbon credits issued by a public academic institution being tokenised. The Urunday project, spanning 3,143 hectares, is projected to remove over 1 million tonnes of CO2e by 2046.
