UK court orders carbon credit conman Luke Ryan to pay more to victims

Luke Ryan, director of the scam company Enviro Associates, has been ordered by Southwark Crown Court to pay nearly £15,000 more to victims of a carbon credit investment scheme. Enviro Associates cold-called individuals, often pensioners, to sell worthless carbon credits at mark-ups between 200% and 1000%. Ryan was previously jailed for six years in 2021 for his role in the £36 million scam, which saw vulnerable victims lose life savings on investments with no resale market. The company was liquidated in 2016 following an investigation by the Insolvency Service.
