Isometric issues first rice methane reduction credits to Mitti Labs

Isometric has issued over 97,000 certificates to climate technology company Mitti Labs for methane reductions from rice-farming projects in southern India. This marks Isometric's first issuance of 'superpollutant' credits, which represent verified reductions of more than 97,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. The credits will go to buyers including Google and Salesforce, who have signed agreements with Mitti Labs for a combined 1.5 million tonnes of emissions reductions. Mitti Labs works with over 100,000 farmers across four Indian states, promoting Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) to reduce methane emissions and water consumption.
